LDA Design’s purpose is to make great places and shape the world around us for the better. We provide landscape-led masterplanning, landscape architecture, design and planning services to developers, landowners, communities, universities and government. Our origins lie in landscape architecture, and this strengthens all the services we offer.
We follow the principles of ‘first life, then spaces, then buildings’. Whether the project is a park, port or a new urban district, we focus on the needs of people affected and on creating balance with nature. We care deeply about the world around us and want to see a more equitable future. By leading with the landscape, and by putting people first, we create better connected, healthier and happier places where lives can easily overlap. We have received over 100 awards for contemporary and historic parkland design, urban renewal and town centre improvements. LDA Design is a shared endeavour. Our move to employee ownership is the ultimate expression of our belief in each other.
LDA Design led the masterplanning and detailed design of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, one of Europe’s most successful new parklands. We have designed and are delivering some of the UK’s most challenging city centre public realm projects, including London’s Battersea Power Station, Stratford Waterfront and Strand-Aldwych, George Street in Edinburgh and Grey Street in Newcastle. We are green infrastructure pioneers – our work for Thamesmead puts natural networks at the heart of whole-town recovery and regeneration. We are supporting the UK’s drive to renewable energy and towards cleaner, safer and more active travel.
