We have plenty to shout about – Doncaster is the UK’s best connected location, we have many major developments in the pipeline, a vibrant urban centre with a thriving arts and cultural scene, sport and leisure attractions, wonderful green spaces and a fascinating heritage. We firmly believe, as do our partners, that Doncaster is the place to be with a bright future and ambitions ahead of it. But don’t just take our word for it – anyone joining the council, can look forward to expanding their knowledge and skills in a dynamic, creative and nurturing environment while truly making a difference to the communities we serve.
An Assistant Landscape Architect opportunity has arisen within Property Services for an enthusiastic individual to join the “in house” Design Department. This is a great opportunity for those wanting to advance their career in the Landscape Architectural profession. The Design team operates like a multi-disciplinary architectural practice designing new buildings, extensions and external spaces/public realm to council owned premises and land across the borough. Our portfolio of work is exciting and extremely varied ranging from Education work and new Council Housing to historic Grade listed buildings and enhancement of Council owned parks and open spaces. The role is based at the award winning Civic Building in the town centre, which offers a modern, technically advanced and inspiring environment to work in.
You will have completed your full-time study toward becoming a Graduate Landscape Architect with a degree or post graduate qualification. You will be enrolled on and commence the Landscape Institute “Pathway to Chartership” scheme with support and assistance from a Senior Chartered Landscape Architect. Subject to certain criteria any costs relating to this will be paid for by the Council. Further details about the responsibilities and requirements of the role are contained in the role summary and job profile, whilst the progression criteria clearly shows what the future can offer.
In return for your hard work and dedication, we can offer you the chance to be part of a great team dedicated to ensuring that all people in Doncaster thrive.
You will also have access to a variety of attractive employee benefits including competitive leave entitlement, local government pension scheme and access to a range of staff discount and flexible benefits schemes. Visit our Working in Doncaster - City of Doncaster Council page to find out more.
