The Natural and Historic Environment Service is leading on a range of exciting projects that will make a positive difference to Wiltshire’s natural environment and biodiversity. The service brings together Landscape Architects, Urban Designers, Ecologists and Archaeologists to provide innovative solutions to challenging issues and is at the forefront of new thinking.
Seeking to build upon the work already progressing the Council are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Landscape Architect to help deliver specialist advice on complex planning application and to support wider environmental projects.
LIVE∙WORK∙INSPIRE
As an experienced Senior Landscape Architect, you will predominately review and provide expert advice on planning applications, while also supporting the development of spatial planning documents and helping to inform the design of major development projects.
The role is mostly office-based, however some site visits will be required to assess application sites. The role will involve working with a wide range of stakeholders including planners, other specialists, developers, agents, consultants, statutory bodies, elected members and the public.
About you
You will be solution focussed, comfortable with working independently, and able to communicate clearly and negotiate confidently.
You will have experience of carrying out or assessing; LVIA’s, physical landscape attributes and visual amenity, effects on landscape character and have a good understanding of the planning system.
Experience working in local government or public body would be advantageous, however this is an excellent opportunity for an individual from private sector to gain experience in the public sector. We are talent focussed and for the right person can offer flexible working although some site visits and team meetings will require you to take advantage of our stunning offices.
