Landscape Architect / Senior Landscape Architect

Southern Green Ltd is looking to recruit Landscape Architect candidates to join our award winning team in Gateshead. We are interested to hear from highly motivated and enthusiastic applicants who have a passion for delivering excellence in design and projects, as well as an appetite for learning and developing skills.

Successful candidates will be involved in all stages of the development of our planning sector and you will be responsible for projects, report writing and working closely with our team as well as external consultants. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of design projects at all stages of the planning, design and implementation process.

Southern Green specialise in urban regeneration, historic landscape restoration, healthcare, play, landscape and visual assessment and master-planning. Tasks include preparation of digital visualisations and illustrations, report figures, landscape design proposals, planning applications, presentations and design competitions. Recent jobs undertaken include Summer in the City for NE1, Seaton Delaval Hall, Bigg Market and Harwoods Adventurous Playground.

We have a very strong P2C track record, with a number of experienced mentors within the team.

The office is situated just 5 minutes from the Tyne Bridge and Quayside of Newcastle and Gateshead, with great transport links to the city. Since returning to work post Covid, various improvements to the office have been made, and these improvements and adjustments continue to benefit our staff. Staff are supportive, sociable and partial to a slice of cake and pizza on a Friday. Requirements:

• CMLI (ideally 2 years post Chartership)
• Talented individual and a good team player who is well organised
• Enthusiastic, adaptable personality, willing to ‘have a go’ and learn new skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Good knowledge of the English planning system
• Landscape assessment and photographic skills
• Experience of working directly with clients and other consultants
• Proven track record of delivering excellence
• Ability to work effectively and manage project teams
• Strong software skills in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
• Driving licence preferred
• Relevant permits for working in the UK

Standard working hours are 9am-5pm Mon to Fri, with flexible working arrangements available on approval.
