We are offering the following:
Fairness & Honesty
We run the business with radical fairness and honesty. The team is encouraged to provide feedback to managers in the same way they receive feedback. It may feel unusual at the start, but we can assure you it results in a much more open and honest studio vibe. We share the details of company finances and we make democratic decisions about the projects we work on - we genuinely believe that if you’re informed and involved we’ll grow better as a business.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
At Layer.studio, we passionately believe that successful designs are created by teams just as diverse as the communities who use them. Please see our point below regarding the application process.
Creative Freedom
We encourage individual expression in our workplace and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels they have the opportunity to contribute. This resonates at both studio level but also in our design process and the outputs themselves. We don’t have a set style and everyone, at every grade, is free to generate ideas and contribute equally.
A commitment to ensure you have your own time
We place absolutely zero emphasis on presenteeism. We firmly believe you will do your best work when you’re fully recharged and full of energy. To ensure that, it’s important you have as much personal time as possible. Sure, some people work late or even send emails at the weekend -but you’re not expected to read them or even think about work outside of ‘work time’. You will be rewarded for your results and your creativity, passion and energy; not the hours you put in.
Agile working
We believe it makes business sense for you to choose how you can work most effectively to meet your client, team and personal commitments. We embrace agility, flexibility and trust. If you would like to suggest a proposed structure to your working pattern, please set them out in your cover letter.
Please send us an original cover letter setting out why you would be a good fit, what attracts you to Layer.studio and what unique skill or trait you would bring to the team.
Please also send a CV and a short portfolio of your portfolio work.
We are striving to be as diverse and as inclusive as possible, please ensure your cover letter, CV and portfolio are ‘blind’ in so much as they don’t reveal your name, gender, age or ethnicity.
Please provide an email address and/or telephone number and you’ll be contacted should you be successful and invited to interview. If you have a disability and would prefer to apply in a different format or would like us to make reasonable adjustments to enable you to apply or attend an interview, please contact us at the above email addresses.
No postal copies. No agencies. We welcome applications for any future roles that may also arise in either of our Manchester or Newcastle studios.
